Message from the President

On behalf of GRECAA, I want to thank you for visiting our website. GRECAA is an acronym for the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association. GRECAA was founded in the late 1980s by a small group of residential real estate closing attorneys who felt that there was ongoing need to discuss problems related to their practice and to share ideas that were beneficial to their profession. The group has grown over the years to approximately 200 members and has become more formalized, holding regular board and general-membership meetings to address ever-expanding areas of interest.

GRECAA, INC. is the corporate name of the organization, which was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 1990. The purpose and goals of GRECAA are as follows:

1. To educate, inform and update Georgia closing attorneys on current issues involving lawsuits, state and local bar activities, new and pending legislation, and any such matters that have an impact on the livelihood of its membership.
2. To keep the attorney in the real estate closing and title insurance business.
3. To help influence proposed legislation, in concert with other organizations with like interests, opposing bills that may adversely affect our careers or the public interest, and working in support of needed reforms.
4. To market our association within our profession and promote growth, to the end that our purposes might be realized more readily.
